Information > Welcome Letter
Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It’s our great pleasure to welcome you all to this exciting annual meeting of the 2017 32th Joint Annual Conference of Biomedical Science (JACBS)! The JACBS is the largest biomedical science conference in Taiwan. The program this year covers oral and poster presentations from members of nine prestigious medical and biomedical societies including The Taiwan Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, The Chinese Society of Cell and Molecular Biology, Chinese Association for Clinical Biochemistry, Toxicology Society of Taiwan, The Chinese Physiological Society, The Pharmacological Society in Taiwan, The Association of Anatomists of the Republic of China, The Chinese Society of Immunology, and Taiwanese Society for Molecular Imaging. On behalf of the organizing committee and the chair society, The Taiwan Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (TSBMB), I would like to invite all of you to attend the 32th JACBS.

The theme of the coming 32th JACBS is “Translational Medicine”. For this meeting we have kindly invited Prof. Yuan-Tsong Chen and Dr. Tse-Wen Chang to be our plenary speakers. Prof. Chen will talk about his wonderful journey on the discovery of the genetic basis of several major human genetic disorders and the development of DNA-based diagnostic tools for such diseases on March 25 (Saturday), whereas Dr. Chang will share with us his successful story on the development and commercialization of novel antibody drugs for clinical use on March 26 (Sunday). A thematic research competition on “Translational Medicine” will also be held during the meeting. Students and postdocs are highly welcome to submit your works related to translational medicine and a series of prizes will be presented to whose with outstanding works and presentations. Besides, our nine constituted societies have invited different internationally renowned scientists as keynote speakers and organized different symposiums for their societies’ respective research areas. Graduate students, postdocs, and research assistants are also welcome to submit your works to your respective society’s poster and oral presentation sessions. Noticeably, a “Job Fair” area will be setup for the first time of JACBS to promote interactions among laboratories from academia and industry with students, postdocs and young PIs for career developments.

Finally, we would like to express our greatest appreciation to the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industry for their generous support. We would also like to thank our dedicated staff and colleagues for their untiring help, support and advice in planning and arranging this meeting. Special thanks to National Defense Medical Center to provide a comfortable venue with additional space at second floor to make this event possible.

The success of the conference depends on your active participations. We thank you for your contribution and hope that your time at the 32th JACBS is pleasant and rewarding!
